Girls Athletic Association
This year the GAA was divided into two sections; the first was comprised of all the class representatives from 9A to 13, the second being the Athletic Council, At the beginning of the fall term the following girls were elected from the class representatives:
Grade 9 - Elizabeth Horley
Grade 10 - Connie Eley
Grade 11 - Pat Harris
Grade 12 - Jackie Demill
Sec Tres - Marg Cancilla
Vice Pres - Anne Kelly
President - Barb Keyes
Our main project this year has been in improving, organizing and putting into effect the Award System which was started by the GAA of last year. We have high hopes for this system as it is the first of its type to be introduced to the girls of PHHS.
The executive of the GAA would like to take this opportunity to thank the following girls for their wonderful work as curators for the intra-mural sports programme: Rosemary Walden, Pat Harris, Connie Eley, Marjorie Stewart, and Dianna Webb.

Junior and Senior Girls' Basketball Teams - Two of the Most Popular in League
All the Physical Education teachers of the various schools in the area compliment our skilled coaches, Mrs Beamish (Sr Coach), and Miss Pochon (Jr Coach) on how much they enjoy playing the girls' teams of PHHS. The girls as well as the coaches wonder whether it is the cheerful disposition of the girls or our ability to lose every game we play, that accounts for such appreciation. Even if we do end up on the bottom of the score, let's hope we can keep up such a happy reputation. With the experience gained this year each team will probably be in a much stronger position next year. For both the intra-mural and inter-school games it should be remembered, ''Tis no matter whether you win or lose but how you play the game.'

11B Claims Fame
The Senior Volleyball tournament was skillfully won by the girls of 11B, with 12B and grade 13 following closely behind. In the Junior tournament there was a tie between 9A and 9E, while 10A won the grade 10 tournament.

Hope and Rowden top Badminton Tournament
Pat Hope and Faye Rowden won the intra-mural badminton championship last spring. The competition was open to any girl in the school. Although they lost one game to Jean Gooderham and Barb Keyes, they easily won the re-match.
