William Clapp's store, previously operated as a grocery store by Andrew John Throop who died in 1907.
The building, then numbered 54 and 56 Ridout, was later altered for use solely as a residence and renumbered 269 Ridout.
Until it burned down, this building stood at the southeast corner of Ridout and Bramley streets. I remember it as Bailey's house.
